About Ruyee Supply

Hi, I’m Jormau

Your sourcing partner in China

Hi, I’m Jormau, founder of RuyeeSupply. I have 4 years of experience working in the Amazon private label business and three years of experience as a sourcing agent, where I helped acquire over 100 sellers with a combined value of more than 5 million dollars. My story began with my friend, Josh.

Jormau li the sourcing agent in Shenzhen, China

Three years ago, I met a friend, Josh, who later became my first client, at a conference held in Shenzhen. I was standing by him in front of a booth of cocktail shakers, picking one after one for a closer look. Josh was also watching the one in my hand, and then asked me, “Do you drink?”

“What?” Well, it seemed like a perfectly normal question, but I did not expect it from a stranger. I told him I was checking the quality of the shakers.

I was looking for a Boston shaker supplier at the time, and already had a winner in mind. However, seeing and feeling the real product in hand is different, so I came here to check the real product. And yes, I drink, but merely for testing the product. Lol.

We then talked. Josh told me he came to China to find suppliers, but he only found that, as he put it, “The entire process was as agonizing and hopeless as finding a needle in the ocean.” I suggested finding suppliers online, ordering and confirming samples first, and then coming in person to finalize the deal, as this would be a more conventional approach.

As I discussed with him, I learned that many sellers don’t fully understand the sourcing process in China. Even with today’s translation tools and AI, language remains a significant barrier to effective communication. What’s more, with sourcing costs often running into the tens of thousands, there’s little room for losses caused by miscommunication.

Then I had this idea of becoming a sourcing agent. Despite the great opportunity, I hope to see more Chinese products make their way into the global market. In recent years, advancements in technology and the development of a more robust supply chain have led to significant improvements in the quality and manufacturing standards of Chinese suppliers. But as global trade competition intensifies, this momentum is under pressure. I hope I can do my part—however small—to help Chinese brands go global.
